:,D I cannot move past the Colin Firth version

I’ve never seen it and I literally just learned about the colin firth version like 24 hours ago 

I was literally watching bridget jones’ diary for the first time yesterday and my big takeaway was “colin firth is the perfect mr darcy, I hope he’s been in pride and prejudice before” and then I looked it up and found out mr darcy is literally the role that made him famous lmao

the mini series is next on the list… but I gotta work my way up to it  

I think I ruined all other versions for myself by watching the Firth P&P. I read the book about the same time and it is spot on enough that it doesn’t annoy me but also changed enough (a little more time is spent showing what Darcy is doing) that it benefitted the interpretation. The 2005 P&P was not for me but I know a lot of people enjoy it. 

If you end up liking the story you might like “Lost in Austen!” It has an amazing cast and a funny story. I kinda wish they took the cast for that and just did a straight P&P story.
